Al Ameen Dr Mumtaz Ahmed Khan PU College stands as one of the most reputed pre-university institutions in Karnataka. Founded on 22 August 1988 with a vision to provide quality education to students from all walks of life, the college upholds the values of academic excellence, integrity, and social responsibility.

Affiliated to the PU Board of Karnataka, we offer HEBA (Commerce) and HEPS (Arts) programs, equipping students with the knowledge and values needed to succeed in higher education and beyond.

The Visionary Behind AL-Ameen

Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan — Founder of Al-Ameen Movement

AL-Ameen Educational Society was founded by Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, a distinguished educator and philanthropist who dedicated his life to transforming society through education. With a profound vision of providing quality education that balances academic excellence with moral values, Dr. Khan established the AL-Ameen Educational Society in 1966, which later expanded to include AL-Ameen Residential School in 1984.

Born on September 5, 1935, Dr. Khan began his career as a professor of Mechanical Engineering at UVCE, Bangalore. His passion for education led him to resign from his secure government position to establish educational institutions that would serve communities regardless of caste, creed, or religion, with special emphasis on uplifting underprivileged sections of society.

Legacy & Achievements
  • 🏆Pioneer in minority education who established over 200 educational institutions across Karnataka
  • 🎓Created educational opportunities for thousands of underprivileged students through scholarships and accessible education
  • 🥇Recipient of numerous awards including the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award for his contributions to education
  • 🌐Transformed AL-Ameen from a small initiative to a vast educational network including schools, colleges, and professional institutions
  • ⭐Known as "Sir Syed of Karnataka" for his tireless work in educational reform and community development
Dr. Khan's philosophy emphasized that education should not only provide academic knowledge but also instill strong moral values and social responsibility. Though he passed away in 2021, his legacy continues to inspire our institution. We remain committed to his vision of nurturing young minds with the perfect blend of traditional values and modern educational techniques.
